UGANDA SET TO HOST AFRICA MONOLOGUE CHALLENGE SEASON3

Uganda is expected to house Africa Monologue Challenge season 3 in Kampala.

The Africa Monologue Challenge is a prestigious Pan African platform aimed to boost exceptional acting talent to a global audience.

“By participating, you have the amazing opportunity to compete for a lead role in a Pan-African film that will be produced in your country, should you emerge as the ultimate Africa Monologue Title winner, plus many exciting prices,”Secretary general of the Pan African Women Organization [PAWO] Grace Kabayo said.

Rachael Nduhukire a Ugandan was awarded a grand prize that included one thousand dollars, a plaque, a certificate, the lead character role in a Pan-African film to be produced in Uganda, and professional headshots in season2 of Africa Monologue Challenge.

Jeromy Mumba from Zambia secured the first runner-up position, earning three hundred dollars, while Refilwe Maitisa became the second runner-up, taking home one hundred dollars. Kenya’s young award-winning actress and TV host, Stycie Waweru took home the young talent award for her impressive show of confidence and talent. All eleven finalists will also be part of a Pan-African film to be produced in Uganda.
Nduhukire, 20 is best known for portraying Melisa Kirunda in the popular Sanyu series and other movies like Journey to Jamaa, I Found My Way, and Family series.

The Africa Monologue Challenge is an initiative of MK Casting, Ghana’s premier casting company in collaboration with the African Chamber of Content Producers and the National Film Authority of Ghana.

The challenge is designed to match the standard of performances in Hollywood with existing or emerging African talents and position them strategically for global roles as well as ensure that actors and actresses in Africa are visible to casting directors, producers, and directors globally.

In a media briefing in Kampala mp Grace Kaboyo said Uganda besides hosting season3 will set up permanent Pagolin House similar to that of Big Brother in South Africa to train and nurture young creatives.
