GOVERNMENT SCORES 84% OF NRM MANIFESTO IMPLEMENTATION

Under the slogan Securing Your Future, The NRM government says it has fullfilled 84 percent of the 2021-2026 pledges, Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has revealed.

According to her key among the achievements are the direct employment opportunities registered during the implementation period with over one million jobs created through Parish Development Model.

The NRM government begun this political term in 2021 having won the general elections based on the aspirations that were made through the manifesto 2021-2026 being aligned to the National development plan III and has guided government service delivery since then

“In the midterm performance, the NRM government has alleviated the agriculture Sector increasing from 39.1trillion shillings in the FY 2021/2022 to shs43trillion in the FY 2022/23,”She remarked.

Meanwhile In the markets restructuring, Nabbanja says government has constructed 12 operational markets, Kabale,Mbarara,Kasese,Arua,Masaka,Kitoro,Kitgum,Busia,Lugazi,Moroto,Soroti and Tororo with a vendor capacity of 17,399 spread across all the markets.

On the Standard Gauge Railway government has approved a resettlement action plan with shs 151.656 billion paid to 5,023 Project Affected Person (PAPs) acquiring 1522.44 acres.

In the education sector, the government has completed the construction of 102 out of 117 secondary schools with the number of seed schools standing at 100.

In her speech read by the Minister for the Presidency, Milly Babalanda, Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja noted the two and half years the NRM government has managed to realize 84% of the pledges with hopes of hitting 100% before the beginning next term.

“I am happy to inform you that at midterm that is two and half years, the NRM government has been able to achieve 35% of the commitments, while 49% of the commitments are on track to be achieved. In simple terms if we attain the required resources as planned, Government can easily realize an 84% achievement of the manifesto commitments at the end of the implementation period,” Nabbanja said.

The Prime Minister however directed all ministers and local government leaders including those in the party structures to preach the commitments and progress of the Manifesto and strategies planned to finalize implementation.

Nabbanja emphasized that NRM has managed to sail Uganda through the most violent and turbulent storms in our history. “Through this time, NRM has been tried, tested and found worthy of continued leadership of this country. Our resolve to the call of duty remains steadfast and this is our solemn promise.” she vehemently said.

“In line with our principled approach to economic development and growth, we have selected five priority areas of focus. They are: Creating Wealth and Jobs; Delivering Education and Health; Ensuring Justice and Equity; Protecting Life and Property and Achieving Economic and Political Integration, “she added.

The mantle of securing the future of Uganda is so great a task for one to play bets on. It is not a gamble. It is a matter which requires lifelong commitment, unending sacrifice and vast experience. NRM is the only political organisation that can be trusted with the sacred responsibility of securing Uganda’s future.
