KACITA TO BE SCRAPPED BEFORE 2026

Traders umbrella organisation Kampala City Traders Association (KACITA) is to be disbanded before 2026,this website has learnt.

Intelligence information indicates that kacita leaders have been blocking tax collection for years hence government lossing revenue.

Reliable sources gave further intimated to ys that Kacita leaders have been receiving huge somebof money purpoted to set up factories to boost industrialisation and employment but in vain.

However the traders body engaged in several strikes disrupting businesses and entire country economy.

Kacita is a business support association in Uganda, established and registered in 2001. It was re-registered in 2009 as KACITA – Uganda in the mandate to cover the whole country.

The main aim is to facilitate trade, bring together the business community, and mobilize them into a viable, organized and social sustainable market place.

Issaih Sekitto Kacita Spokesman says KACITA Uganda has come a long way in advocating for the rights of the Business Community in Uganda and beyond boarders basing on a sundry of strategies to support trader’s existence.

“KACITA Uganda has witnessed a number of developments within the year including several partnership with DTB on establishing the ‘KACITA Community estate, Partnership with UNICAF University and other instructions in providing quality and affordable education both local and Globally through providing Bursaries and scholarships especially to the less privileged students, we have ably offered free business consultancy to most of our traders in various spheres, carrying out Corporate Social responsibility in various parts of the country and others initiatives, “he said.

Kavita achievements

KACITA-Uganda has worked tirelessly strengthened Uganda’s Competitiveness for Sustainable Wealth Creation, inclusive Growth and Employment.

” KACITA came up with projects like Agro- Business, cottage and production Unit, KACITA Women entrepreneur’s league, Youth entrepreneur’s league, and all intended to guide the business community and as an important vehicle for knowledge exchange, technology and innovation development, research and investment transfer to significantly contribution to sustainable and efficient value addition production,”Sekitto explained.
