President Yoweri Museveni has urged communities surrounding Kapeeka Industrial Park to take full advantage of the opportunities it offers in order to market their products and boost their household incomes.
Officiating the two-day trade fair at Namunkekera Agro Processing Limited in Kapeeka, Nakaseke District, the President thanked his brother Gen. Salim Saleh for his visionary foresight in securing land for investment which has led to the establishment of the industrial park.
“I thank Gen. Salim Saleh for his visionary foresight in securing land for investment, which led to the establishment of the industrial park,” Museveni said.
“My appeal to our people is to take full advantage of the opportunities available at the Industrial park to market their products and boost household incomes.”he stressed.
The president also thanked the investors who responded positively to his call to invest in Uganda, recognizing their significant role in the country’s economic growth.
According to available information thete over 21 factories fully operational in Kapeeka Industrial Business Park currently employing 15,000 people.
Minister of Trade, Industry and Cooperatives Francis Mwebesa, lauded the president for championing industrialization saying has been instrumental in driving Uganda’s economic development.
Alice Kaboyo Minister of State for Luwero Triangle thanked President Museveni for his visionary leadership that has brought about Kapeeka transformation from war zone now fast growing industrial hub.
Evelyn Anite, the Minister of State for Investment and Privatization urged Ugandans to embrace the Buy Uganda, Build Uganda (BUBU) initiative, highlighting that supporting local products increases national revenue and creates jobs.
Liao Shen Industrial Park Managing Director Zhang Hao and Namunkekera Agro-Processing Industries Limited Managing Director Joselyne Kenyana briefed Museveni about the different products processed and manufactured at the respective factories that meet international standards.
