PROFESSOR MOHAMMAD NGOMA INSTALLED AS KIU VICE-CHANCELLOR

In ahighly attended 29th graduation ceremony, Prof Mohammed Ngoma was installed as Kampala International University new Vice Chancellor replacing professor Mohammad Mpezamihigo whose second term in office expired in May.

Ngoma pledged to work together with staff and Board of Directors to enhance Kampala International University education standard during his term in office.

KIU is the leading private university in Uganda and 3rd best university in Africa according to this year Webometrics University ranking.

KIU currently boasts of well stocked medical teaching facility in western Uganda after Mulago University.

Ngoma has twenty-six years of experience in teaching, training, research and consultancy in the areas of communication, business administration, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, international business, leadership and governance in both the public and private sectors.
He attended courses in Management of Higher Education, as well as Executive Development Training and Research.

He has held researchers positions at international society in the United States of America.

The decorated academician also doubles as Chairman Board of Uganda Security Printing Company thats championing digitalisation of government agencies.

At USPC, Ngoma replaced Dr. Patrick Ibembe, currently in a self-imposed exile in the UK following an inquiry into reports of gross financial mismanagement at the time when he was at the helm of the institution.
Prof Ngoma has consulted for a number of other organizations including Bank of Uganda, Ministry of the East African to the tune of NOK 17,951,060.29 (about 8 billion UGX) for the implementation of the project titled “Capacity Building

Ngoma has won number of grants for the Diseases Institute, Directorate of Information and Communication Technology, First Insurance Company, exposed to other teaching and learning methodologies in other parts of the world, specifically in the Justus Liebig.

He has held leadership positions in the University, which has given him wide experience in handling entrepreneurship training geared towards college and university students to prepare them for entrepreneurship.

He was a beneficiary of Makerere University Business School, where he coordinates Graduate Research and Training in the School, United Assurance, Uganda Insurance Commission, among others. He has been involved in the (i)The STEP project on Students’ Training for Entrepreneurship Promotion which aims at developing.
