Roofings Group, a leading manufacturer of steel and plastic construction materials in East Africa, is celebrating its 30th anniversary of social impact.

Founded in 1994, the company has played a pivotal role in Uganda’s industrial growth, infrastructure development and improved quality of life of the community through its Corporate Social Responsibility like tree planting among others.

According to the group Corporate Affairs Manager Stuart Mwesigwa, Roofings Group has grown into a diversified conglomerate offering a wide range of high-quality products, including steel profiles, roofing sheets, PVC pipes, and more.

He says the company’s commitment to innovation and quality has earned it a reputation as a trusted partner for builders, contractors, and home owners.

Commenting about the future, Mwesigwa said Roofings Group is not only focused on building strong structures but also on building a sustainable future.

“The company has implemented various initiatives to reduce its environmental footprint, including tree planting campaigns and energy-efficient practices.Whether you’re a contractor looking for reliable building materials or a homeowner planning a renovation, Roofings Group has something to offer, “he stressed.

” As Roofings Group celebrates 30 years of success, it’s clear that the company’s commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability has played a vital role in Uganda’s development. SCR Intervention

Roofings Group has donated state-of-the-art wheelchairs to children with disabilities, reinforcing their commitment to community support and corporate social responsibility. The donation was made during the Community-Based Rehabilitation (CBR) Conference, organized by the Ministry of Gender, Labor, and Social Development at Imperial Resort Hotel, Entebbe, on September 13.

Rukia Nakadama Isanga, the third Deputy Prime minister and minister without portfolio, praised Roofings Group for their generosity and called on other corporate companies in Uganda to increase their support for people with disabilities. “Roofings Group’s contribution brings hope and empowerment to children with disabilities,” Nakadama said, emphasizing how essential such donations are to improving lives.

Stuart Mwesigwa, Roofings Group’s Corporate Affairs Manager, reiterated the company’s dedication to supporting marginalized communities as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategy. He noted, “Our support for children today is about more than just empowering their dreams; it’s about shaping future leaders who will bring positive change to their communities.”

Mwesigwa also pointed out that the wheelchairs were produced locally, in alignment with the “Buy Uganda, Build Uganda” (BUBU) initiative. Roofings Group partnered with Kyaninga Mobility in 2023 to support a workshop that produces sustainable, easy-to-repair wheelchairs.
