SUDHIR UNVEILS PARADISE ISLAND RESORT IN THE MARKET

Hospitality tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia has unveiled the long-awaited Paradise Island Resort located on Lake Victoria in the market place.

Known for his great marketing skills, Sudhir has enticed business friends to visit the new facility to enjoy the cool breeze over the lake.

The resort boosts of 10 Standard cottages, 11 standard cliff hunger cottages, 14 units of Deluxe cottages (2BHK) and 3 beautifully appointed Executive Villas which will enable guests experience the wonder of Lake Victoria and the ambiance of the island.

Paradise Island Resort sits on 19 acres of land and is surrounded by another rocky island, which is occupied by trees and a huge number of birds, which makes it extremely beautiful for lovers of bird tourism.

The new resort is a new baby to Ruparelia Group, a company which has distinguished itself for superior hospitality services in Uganda, including Speke Resort Munyonyo, The Commonwealth convention center, Kabira Country Hotel, Speke Apartments, among others.

Tourism in Uganda

Tourism in Uganda is an increasingly important contributor to its economy. The 1.5 million international arrivals, combined with a growing number of domestic tourists, generated 7.75% of GDP and 6.7% of total national employment in 2018.

Tourism Direct Gross Domestic Product accounts for 3.64 percent of the GDP in terms of the direct contribution; Tourism also accounts for a large share of total employment, directly employing close to 1.6 million people, 68 percent of whom were females and accounting for 14.7 percent of the total number of jobs.

In 2022, a total of 814,508 tourist attivals were recorded which is a 59% rise over 2021’s total of 512,945 visitors. This represents a major rebound for Uganda’s tourism industry. Even though this shows growth in the industry’s post-pandemic recovery, the performance is only 53% of the arrivals in 2019.
